Copperhead Gin - The Gibson Edition 40° 50Cl

The Gibson Edition is inspired by the classic cocktail "Gibson Martini" with a pearl onion as a garnish, which also inspired Marian's bar (The Gibson). The exact origins of this cocktail are unknown, but it is known to have originated at the Players Club in New York City, where artist Charles Dana Gibson challenged bartender Charles Connely to create a new twist on the Classic Martini. He replaced the olive with a pearl onion.

The new flavor is defined by a unique and savory style of gin , combining a distillate of the five original Copperhead botanicals with Gibson's distillate of 13 carefully selected botanicals, including mace, pepper, cassia, bay leaf, ginger, allspice, fennel, and dill seeds. Marian also added the individual distillate or macerate for each botanical to the recipe. The addition of an 8-year-old genever rounds out the blend beautifully with its smooth yet complex flavor.

The Gibson Edition is perfect for Martinis, but can also be used in cocktails with a pickled twist or combined with a Fever-Tree premium tonic for a unique Gin & Tonic with a pickled garnish.

About Copperhead

Copperhead Gin is a Belgian gin with Kortrijk roots, presented in a striking copper bottle. Copperhead Gin is the result of a collaboration between Yvan Vindevogel (a pharmacist from Kortrijk with a strong interest in the medicinal properties of gin) and Bernard Fillier (owner of the Filliers grain distillery), who excels at distilling juniper-based alcohol. The original Copperhead Gin was launched in Belgium in 2014, and Black Batch followed a year later.

The name Copperhead not only refers to the copper lambic used to distill alcohol, but also to the copperhead, a type of snake known from the symbol of pharmacy.

Botanicals
Juniper berries, coriander seeds, cardamom, angelica root and orange zest, supplemented with 14 spices traditionally used in pickling such as mace, pepper, cassia, bay leaves, ginger, allspice, fennel and dill seeds.
