Description
Like many other rum producers, the Alvarez family fled the country during the Cuban Revolution. Many chose the Dominican Republic because its climate and soil are so similar to Cuba, making it the perfect location for restarting production.
The Alvarez family doesn't currently own a distillery, but they do have a long-term contract with a company in Santiago to distill their rum. The rum is aged in oak barrels using the solera system.
