Description
Today, it's the largest Champagne house, also owning the largest number of its own vineyards (600 hectares in 13 of the 17 Grand Cru communes!). The remainder is purchased from over 1,000 farmers. The cellars in the chalky soils of Epernay are impressive: up to 30 meters deep and 28 kilometers long. 100 million bottles are aging here. The classic Brut (50% Pinot Noir, 40% Pinot Meunier, and 10% Chardonnay) typifies the house style: fresh, elegant, beautifully fruity, and refined on the finish.
