Description
The fruit behind Absolut Kurant's name, blackcurrant, is a typical Swedish berry from which the flavor is derived. When it was launched in 1992, it was a tribute to ABSOLUT's Swedish origins. Originally, Absolut was thought to be called Vinbar, as the Swedish word for blackcurrant is Vinbar. This was rejected because it sounded like "Wine Bar" in English.
Absolut Kurant is made exclusively from natural ingredients, and unlike most other flavored vodkas, it doesn't contain added sugar. It's smooth and sweet, with a fruity blackcurrant note and a hint of tartness.
