The Clynelish Distillery is the successor to the now-closed Brora Distillery. Clynelish is Gaelic for "green meadow." Although the distillery is located near the coast, this is primarily a Scotch malt with sweet floral aromas and green flavor notes. Yet, it has maritime qualities. Clynelish is closer to an island-style whisky than any other mainland malt. The 14-Year-Old Clynelish Single Malt Scotch Whisky offers sweet floral aromas and maritime flavors with a light, dry finish. It may not be quite as heavy, but it is delightfully drinkable and perfect as an aperitif. Clynelish also won the 2016 Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Clynelish 14-Year-Old is best enjoyed neat or with a little water in a traditional whisky glass.
