The Knockando Distillery was founded in 1898 by John Thompson on the River Spey, in the village of the same name. The name derives from 'Cnoc-an-dhu,' which means "little black hill" in Gaelic. Only natural ingredients are used in the production of Knockando: barley malt, yeast, and crystal-clear spring water from Cardnach Spring, in the hills above the distillery. Together, these ingredients, over time, create a delicious whisky with a distinctively fresh almond flavor and a correspondingly deep palate. Each bottle of Knockando whisky contains only the production of a single distilling season. This distinguishes this fine Speyside from almost all other single malts. It is therefore no surprise that Knockando whisky consistently receives positive reviews. A very fine, fruity, and subtle Speyside: smooth, complex layers of floral, nutty, and slightly smoky notes. Drink Knockando 12 Year Old neat, with a little water, or on the rocks.
