Lalande-de-Pomerol lies north of the highly renowned Pomerol region. Unlike the latter, this Pomerol spur still boasts interesting and underrated estates that produce high-quality, affordable wines. Merlot dominates here, lending the wines their signature roundness and fruitiness. Cabernet Sauvignon is less prevalent but adds character and freshness to the wines.
