Description

A Speyside single malt whisky praised for its depth and complexity. Named after "great rock" in Gaelic, Cragganmore is a small distillery in the largest and most famous whisky region of the Scottish Highlands. Cragganmore Distillery was founded in 1869 by John Smith, who was previously the manager of Macallan, Glenlivet. John Smith designed the distillery around flat-topped stills to create complex flavors. It is a true designer malt. The single malt has won three gold medals. Cragganmore has sweet floral notes with hints of wood smoke, spice, vanilla, and cereal. One of Scotland's most famous and influential whisky makers, Michael Jackson, described Cragganmore as having "the most complex aroma of any malt." Serve neat or over ice in a tumbler or tulip glass to concentrate the flavor, and add a splash of water to release more of its complexity.
