ORIGIN In the late 18th century, Severo Arango y Ferro settled in the region we know today as Colombia. His style and character quickly earned him the nickname "dictador." He became a key figure in the sugarcane spirits trade, which were also used as currency at the time. In 1913, one of his descendants opened the Destilería Colombiana. Don Julio Arango y Parra spent his entire life perpetuating the myth of his ancestor and his passion for rum. However, it wasn't until 2009 that this rum truly achieved international success.
