Description
The Talisker 11 Years Special Release will be known as "The Lustrous Creature of the Depths." The malt is, as usual, maritime, salty, smoky, and has a light sweetness, often described as "Made by the Sea." Talisker is matured in first-fill ex-bourbon casks, which impart layers of flavor: spice, sweetness, and stormy notes of salt and smoke. Legend has it that when the tides surged in Talisker Bay, a luminous creature was drawn from the blackest depths, bathing the darkness of the sea in its enchanting glow. Currents driven by the storm carried this luminosity to the Talisker Distillery, where it illuminated "the new spirit." This luster shone within this spirit, its classic smokiness replaced by a radiant flood of spice and luminous sweetness rarely seen before. An elemental yet classic character: maritime malt smoke melds with a flood of spicy-bright sweetness to create a briny monster that is truly 'Made by the Sea'.
