Description
During the First World War, Charles Rubbens distilled jenever at his famous distillery in Zele. Its characteristic flavor was the result of a refined and carefully balanced blend of selected botanicals. Poppies Gin was a highly sought-after drink among British soldiers during the 1914-1918 war. A sip of Poppies Gin warmed them on long, cold nights in the trenches and helped keep their spirits up. The small stoneware jugs were passed from man to man and were very popular. Today, Poppies Gin is still sold with a resealable cap.
Ingredients : This artisanal distillery is the only one in Flanders where you'll still find an authentic herb loft, filled with closely guarded local and exotic herbs. Poppies Gin is made with poppies.
Flavor and Aroma : Poppies is an exceptionally floral gin made with poppies. Incidentally, these poppies are the symbol of the First World War.
