Every gin's signature. The use of juniper berries defines the character and flavor of every gin. Gin owes its bittersweet notes of pine, lavender, and camphor to juniper. This tree or shrub grows throughout most of the Northern Hemisphere and can even be found at altitudes of 3,500 meters. The juniper berries used to create gin are carefully selected and processed by the producers. Each producer has their own preference, from Italy to Macedonia, hand-picked or lovingly treated. In the distillery, the juniper berries are aged for about two years until the oil reaches its most aromatic point.
Juniper berry: by law, this is the only flavouring that must be used in gin and jenever.
The juniper berry can be used as a garnish for any gin and tonic.

Try adding some juniper berries to the charcoal cubes on your barbecue. This will add a subtle flavor to your meat.
