Description
After the success of Malfy Gin It's time for its successor: Malfy Gin Originale. The lemon infusion is reduced, and a classic dry finish is chosen. The classic gin botanicals are chosen for the launch of Malfy Gin Originale. Malfy Gin Originale is a tribute to the monks who distilled the first genever-based spirits at the end of the eleventh century.
Malfy Gin Originale is made using vacuum distillation. Vacuum distillation is a distillation method in which the pressure in the still is lower than atmospheric pressure. This technique allows the distiller to distill at lower temperatures. The flavor of the botanicals is reportedly higher because they are not "cooked to death." While vacuum distillation allows the still to be heated, the temperatures are generally much lower than with traditional column distillation.
Meanwhile, Malfy Gin continues to carry the GQDI label. GQDI stands for Gin de Qualita Distillato in Italia . Malfy Gin Originale is distilled in Turin. The main botanicals remain coriander, citrus zest, cinnamon, and cardamom. After distillation, the concentrated gin is diluted with Piedmontese water. The water is sourced from Mount Monviso, near the village of Crissolo.
