Gin de Binche is made with gin, hops, blood orange, lemon, and various herbs and plants (cloves, anise, caraway, coriander, cumin, fennel, lavender, and hyssop). The "blood orange" aroma is a reference to the offering of the Gille, the king of carnival, on Shrove Tuesday in Binche .
