What is Mount Gay?
A traditional single blended rum.
A unique terroir: from Barbados, the birthplace of rum.
A true tradition: we possess the oldest heritage and expertise in rum making.
A progressive approach: this encourages us to continuously learn, discover and improve.
Traditional: distillation in traditional column and pot stills.
Blended: a blend of rums from both column and pot stills.
The combination of all steps of the process makes our rum unique
PURE INGREDIENT: Our molasses is sourced exclusively from Barbados and the Caribbean.
LONG FERMENTATION (up to 72 hours): We use our own yeasts and our own coral-filtered water.
DISTILLATION: Various stills, each imparting a distinct aromatic palette to our rum. (Scottish and Spanish two-bottle pot stills, traditional and Coffey two-bottle column stills.)
STATIC MATURATION: We use a wide variety of casks that impart distinct flavors to our rum. (The three main casks are American whiskey, bourbon, and cognac, as well as Scotch, sherry, port, Madeira, and Sauternes.)
BLENDING: Our master blender Trudiann Branker and her team of experts bring our heritage to life, creating rich and flavorful rums with a vision for the future.
