Sipsmith is a distillery in the heart of London where they still distill gin in a very traditional way.
Sipsmith VJOP, or Very Junipery Over Proof, emphasizes juniper flavor and boasts an overproof alcohol content of 57.7%. Master distiller Jared Brown revised the classic Sipsmith's successful recipe to create a triple juniper distillate by adding juniper throughout the three distillation processes. The classic Sipsmith received an extra dose of juniper, and after a three-day maceration in copper stills, additional juniper-infused vapor is added in the Carter Head.
Because the Sipsmith VJOP is overproof, the crystal-clear distillate retains its body and flavor in classic cocktails.
Sipsmith VJOP Gin has a nose of juniper, pine, and cedarwood with a zesty hint of orange peel. Strong juniper flavors and rich spice with hints of dark chocolate.
Taste & aroma: On the nose, juniper berry naturally comes to the fore, followed by spicy aromas. On the palate, a substantial juniper flavor with subtle notes of coriander and citrus.
