Strange Donkey Winter Dry gin is the winter version of Strange Donkey with added citrus fruits like yuzu. In addition to the classic recipe, Japanese herbs like shiso and cherry blossom are also used. The result is a beautiful upgrade with an original twist; delicate floral notes with a pleasant nose and citrus in the finish. Strange Donkey is a true Antwerp gin from Vremde and is distilled at the Pirlot distillery. The story behind Strange Donkey goes that four men decided in December 2014 to create a new macerate for a new gin. The mistress of the house tasted along and, since her kitchen was filled daily with the most unusual botanicals, unusual herbs, and citrus fruits, decided to experiment further. The winter version won numerous awards in 2017, winning a gold medal at the IWSC in London. The prestigious International Wine & Spirits Competition is rightly highly regarded and judges thousands of gins annually.
